We are excited to announce an enhancement to our Community Coach workshops, which will now be tailored to better meet the developmental needs of specific age groups. Starting this season, we will be splitting the 6-12 Community Coach workshop into 2 separate workshops:
- Community Coach 6-7 Workshop
- Community Coach 8-12 Workshop

WHY THIS CHANGE?

  • Coaches who are coaching the 6-7 age group will benefit from a workshop designed specifically to give them the essential tools and confidence to create a fun environment to introduce kids to Rugby League.
  • Our review has shown that over 85% of coaches working with the 6-7 age group are new to coaching. This adjustment aims to provide them with focused, practical, and manageable content that supports their journey as first-time coaches.
  • Coaches who are working with the 8-12 age group will benefit from a workshop building on existing knowledge and experience to develop a fun environment with the appropriate training activities for players at that age

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR PARTICIPATING COACHES?

The workshop is designed to prioritise Fun, Friends and Fundamentals. That is learning the essential skills of Rugby League while having fun building their confidence to be involved in the game and make friends in the community.
