Public Statement – Wheelchair Access to TRL Stadium Field 2

Hi Everyone,

My name is Terry Moore, and I’m the owner of Paving the Way. I want to take a moment to clarify a few things and provide an update regarding the pending wheelchair access project for Field 2 at TRL. Stadium.

First, I’d like to apologise to anyone who has been inconvenienced by not being able to sit at the back of Field 1. The flagged areas behind both fields were set up by me as part of our ongoing efforts to improve access for everyone especially those living with disabilities.

This project is 100% community-funded and provided at no cost, thanks to the generosity of several local businesses who have come together to make this happen.

We first submitted our proposal for the wheelchair-access ramp on March 6, 2025, but unfortunately it was initially declined by the Northern Territory Government. Since then, we’ve been actively working to meet all requirements, including engaging a registered builder, an architect, and a certifier, in order to submit our final proposal for approval.

The safety flagging currently in place is a symbolic statement to the Northern Territory Government showing that we are ready to begin construction as soon as we receive the green light. Once approved, the entire construction will take just seven days to complete.

If anyone would like to volunteer during the works whether it’s carrying pavers, pushing wheelbarrows, or just lending a hand please feel free to reach out. We’d greatly appreciate the support!

A huge thank you to the following businesses for their generous contributions:

    •    Paving The Way

    •    Tru Flow Services

    •    MJ Builders

    •    HB Blocks

    •    Sage Landscape Supplies

    •    Darwin Building Certifiers

    •    Hames Sharley

Together, we’re committed to making our community more inclusive and accessible for all.

Kind regards,

Terry Moore
