RISE ROOKIE Under 16 to Under 18 Girls

Following the conclusion of the 2025 Junior NRL NT Female Competitions, we are excited to invite girls aged 16 to 18 to take part in the 2025/26 Off-Season RISE Rookie Development Program.

This program is designed to provide female players with the chance to develop their skills, enjoy competitive fixtures, and explore representative pathways in rugby league.


Opening Fixtures – Terrigal Sharks U18 Girls

As part of the program launch, participants will play two showcase matches against the visiting Terrigal Sharks from NSW:

  • When: Sunday 28th & Monday 29th September 2025
  • Kick-off: 5:30pm both nights
  • Where: Territory Rugby League Stadium

Whether you’re an aspiring representative player or just keen to enjoy the experience of playing against Terrigal, this is a fantastic opportunity to get involved. No prior representative experience is required.

Program Benefits

After the opening fixtures, the program continues with nine development sessions over three months. Every registered participant will receive:

  • Free training apparel
  • Specialist coaching and skill development
  • The chance to be identified for the CAS 18s Girls Program
  • Includes up to two all-expenses-paid camps in Melbourne in 2026
  • Potential selection for the 2026 Australian Secondary Schools Championships


Training Sessions at TRL Stadium

All sessions commence at 5:00pm (unless otherwise noted):

  • Session 1 – 14th September
  • Session 2 – 22nd September
  • Session 3 – 24th September
  • Session 4 – 27th September (10:00am – 12:00pm)


Registration Links

Eligibility: Players must be turning 16, 17, or 18 in 2025.
 Open Option: These games are also open to anyone wanting to simply “have a run” with no expectation to join the full RISE program afterwards.

Territory’s Future Stars RISE at 2026 Junior Championships

The 2026 NRL NT Territory Junior Championships delivered an outstanding showcase of emerging rugby league talent, with the Northern Territory’s best Under 16 players taking centre stage at TRL Stadium, Darwin. Across a full day of high-quality competition, teams representing Darwin City, Southern Heat, Katherine and Gove United competed with intensity, skill and pride, highlighting the continued growth and strength of rugby league pathways across the Territory. The boys competition opened with a dominant performance from Gove United, setting the tone early with a 30–4 victory over Darwin City. Southern Heat responded strongly in Game 3, defeating Darwin City 16–8 in a disciplined and physical contest. In the girls division, Southern Heat showcased their class with a 16–0 win over Darwin City in Game 2, underlining the continued rise in female participation and performance standards across the Northern Territory. 

RISE Under 15 Boys Program - Darwin 2026

The NRL Northern Territory in partnership with the Dolphins NRL is proud to launch the 2026 RISE Under 15s Boys Program , continuing its commitment to developing the next generation of Territory rugby league talent. As a key component of the NRL NT Pathways system, the RISE Program provides aspiring young players with access to a high-quality, structured development environment focused on building strong foundations both on and off the field. NRL NT, in partnership with the NRL Dolphins and valued partner Darwin Airport Resort, is proud to deliver an exclusive Dolphins Coaching Masterclass as part of the 2026 NRL Darwin match week. Taking place on Friday 17 April from 7:30am to 8:30am at Darwin Airport Resort, this free session provides a unique opportunity for coaches, players, volunteers and community leaders to gain direct insights from one of the NRL’s high-performance environments. Learn from the Elite Facilitated by the NRL Dolphins coaching staff, the masterclass will explore the key principles that underpin success at the highest level of rugby league, with a strong focus on practical application within community settings.
