SHOOSH For Kids Round

Tony Crowe • April 22, 2025

Support the kids, celebrate the game, and above all, respect the referees, coaches and each other.

Shoosh for Kids isn’t about staying completely silent; it’s about focussing on positive ways to make a difference in junior sport.

Our key messaging focusses on the following themes:

  • Overarching: Think before you speak - be encouraging
  • General participation: Keep it positive, keep it fun
  • Supporting the officials: Respect the referees’ decisions
  • Supporting the coaches: Let the coaches do the coaching
  • Overall: Let the kids enjoy playing

The campaign

Signing your sport up to participate in the Shoosh for Kids campaign lets your community and stakeholders know you are serious about driving a positive and strong sporting culture.

If you would like your sport to sign up for future participation in the campaign, contact your Northern Territory Peak Sporting Body.

For more information on kids posters, social media tiles and more get the Shoosh for kids stakeholder pack PDF (858.5 KB).

We're encouraging clubs to get involved in Shoosh for Kids - a campaign designed to support positive and respectful spectator behaviour at junior sporting events. Download the free resources in this stakeholder pack and get involved in the Shoosh for Kids round from Friday 2 to Saturday 10 May 2025.
